Compensated Devices, Inc., known as CDI, was founded in 1974 in Melrose, Massachusetts and specialised in high-reliability diode, rectifier and Schottky products. The company built its parts using a proprietary high-temperature glass sealing process and qualified roughly 350 part numbers to MIL-S-19500, including JAN-S space-level product. Its devices were used in military, aerospace and other high-reliability applications. Microsemi acquired Compensated Devices in June 2001, and Microsemi in turn became part of Microchip Technology in 2018.
