Legacy logic
& discretes.

Hybrid Electronics sources legacy logic and discrete semiconductors — 74xx TTL/CMOS, CD4000 CMOS, Nexperia transistors, ON Semi and Diodes Inc. small-signal — for repair, long-life industrial platforms, defense sustainment, and last-time-buy programs when the manufacturer has moved on and you still ship.

The 2026 picture

The 2026 legacy logic & discrete shortage in one paragraph.

Legacy logic is a slow-burn shortage, not a demand-shock one. 74xx TTL and HC/HCT logic families remain in production but on stretched schedules; CD4000 CMOS has been discontinued or scheduled EOL by multiple manufacturers. Nexperia (formerly NXP standard products) transistor lines have been frozen since October 2025 export controls, and no new fabs are coming online to replace lost capacity.

For repair depots, industrial-controller manufacturers with 15+ year product lifecycles, and defense sustainment programs, that means the spot channel and OEM excess is the only path. We source exact P/Ns with full traceability — legacy programs don't survive part substitutions.

TI, ON Semi, and Nexperia all maintain some 74HC/HCT and 74LVC production, but the CD4000 series is either discontinued or on last-time-buy schedules at most manufacturers. LS-series TTL is spot-channel only across the board.

We source against distributor excess, Tier 1 last-time-buy inventory, and legitimate obsolete-parts channel with full manufacturer traceability. Lots come with date codes and RoHS status — legacy logic qualification cycles don't tolerate ambiguity on origin.

Discrete transistor & diode sourcing.

The October 2025 export controls froze Nexperia manufacturing on multiple transistor and diode families, and the Wingtech situation compounded that supply disruption. We source Nexperia BC-series, BSS-series, and PMEG-series against pre-freeze inventory and legitimate channel — full origin and date-code documentation on every lot.

ON Semi (2N series, general-purpose), Diodes Inc., Rohm, Toshiba, and STMicroelectronics discrete lines cover the substitution space where your engineering will accept a spec-equivalent part. But for legacy repair and defense sustainment, we source the exact Nexperia P/N against pre-freeze stock.

Why buyers come to Hybrid

What we bring to a shortage list.

  • 20+ years in the channelHybrid's relationships across OEM excess, Tier 1 excess, and legitimate spot channel are what turn a "no stock anywhere" shortage list into a working RFQ.
  • Authenticity and traceabilityManufacturer traceability, date code and country-of-origin documentation, and third-party testing available on request. No unmarked or refurbished inventory.
  • One business day responseSend us the shortage list and we come back inside one business day with confirmed stock, spot-channel pricing, or a firm lead-time offer.

FAQ

Common questions.

Is Nexperia still shipping any product in 2026?

Partial. Some product lines resumed on limited schedules through 2026 but multiple transistor and small-signal diode families remain constrained since the October 2025 export controls. We source against pre-freeze inventory and legitimate channel with full origin documentation.

Can you handle last-time-buy programs for CD4000?

Yes. Last-time-buy inventory and OEM excess is exactly where we fit. Send us a full BOM with quantities and time horizon and we'll structure a source-and-hold program if that's what the platform needs.

Do you handle repair and field-replacement quotes?

Yes. Repair depots and long-life industrial platforms are a big share of what we source. Single-piece and low-quantity quotes welcome — we work small orders on legacy P/Ns the same way we work volume programs.

How do you document origin on legacy discretes?

Date codes, country of origin, manufacturer part-marking, and photo of representative parts on request. For programs that need extra paperwork (PPAP, first-article inspection, X-ray or decap testing), we route through a partner test lab and forward the report.
