About Mallory
P. R. Mallory and Co. Inc., founded in Indianapolis in 1916, made electronic components, electrolytic capacitors, dry-cell and alkaline batteries (the origin of Duracell), Sonalert audible devices and tungsten wire (Wikipedia). Its Mallory Capacitor Company was a mainstay supplier of FP twist-lock and computer-grade aluminum electrolytics, tantalum, mica and motor-run capacitors (Specialty Capacitors). The capacitor business passed through Dart Industries and Emerson Electric and was ultimately discontinued, so Mallory parts survive as legacy stock (Specialty Capacitors).
