About Centralab

Centralab, founded in 1922 as Central Radio Laboratories in Milwaukee, was a pioneering U.S. maker of ceramic capacitors, ceramic fixed resistors, potentiometers, switches and silk-screened ceramic-based thick-film circuits (Johnson Controls). Its Hi-Kap disc and tubular ceramic capacitors and temperature-compensating types were industry staples in radio and television production (RF Cafe). The name survives today mainly on reissue potentiometers and tone capacitors for guitars (Centralab).
