Company history: from Eric Lidow's selenium rectifiers to Infineon's HiRel division
International Rectifier Corporation was founded on August 9, 1947 in Inglewood, California by Eric Lidow and his father Leon Lidow, with six employees and a small facility built around selenium-rectifier processes the Lidows had developed for converting AC to DC in industrial and military electronics. The company moved its headquarters to El Segundo, California shortly after founding, was listed on the NYSE under the ticker "IRF" on December 12, 1960, and remained there until the Infineon acquisition. Space heritage: from 1970s rad-hard parts to Artemis and Roman
Few discrete-semiconductor manufacturers have the flight history of IR HiRel.
