Its products were specified for military, aerospace and medical equipment where high reliability and high volumetric efficiency were required. The company reported net sales of approximately US$19 million in the fiscal year ended October 28, 2000. Vishay Intertechnology acquired Tansitor in January 2001, describing the deal as giving it access to a niche specialty tantalum market complementary to its Vishay/Sprague division, and the products are now sold within Vishay's tantalum capacitor range.
