Tansitor

Tansitor Electronics Inc. of Bennington, Vermont manufactured wet tantalum electrolytic capacitors and solid tantalum capacitors. Its products were specified for military, aerospace and medical equipment where high reliability and high volumetric efficiency were required. The company reported net sales of approximately US$19 million in the fiscal year ended October 28, 2000. Vishay Intertechnology acquired Tansitor in January 2001, describing the deal as giving it access to a niche specialty tantalum market complementary to its Vishay/Sprague division, and the products are now sold within Vishay's tantalum capacitor range.
