Distributor of Intersil components. Send us your RFQ — we'll match your part numbers to stock or source them.
Intersil was founded in 1967 by physicist Jean Hoerni to develop bipolar and field-effect analog circuits, and pioneered CMOS technology for battery-powered watches as well as the 12-bit IM6100 CMOS microprocessor. Harris Corporation acquired the original Intersil in 1988 and folded it into Harris Semiconductor, then spun the semiconductor division off in 1999 to create a new Intersil Corporation based in Milpitas, California. The later company specialised in power management integrated circuits - battery management, computing and display power, regulators, controllers and power modules - alongside amplifiers, data converters, timing products, optoelectronics, interface devices and light and proximity sensors for industrial, infrastructure, mobile, automotive and aerospace markets. Renesas Electronics acquired Intersil on February 24, 2017.
