About Hitachi

Hitachi, Ltd., founded in 1910, is a Japanese conglomerate whose electronics activities historically included semiconductors, memory chips, system LSIs and displays alongside power, industrial and IT systems (Wikipedia — Hitachi). Its MOS memory and microcontroller business was combined into Renesas, now Renesas Electronics Corporation (Wikipedia — Renesas Electronics).
