Manufacturer profile
Hybrid Electronics sources Broadcom BCM Wi-Fi / Bluetooth combo SoCs (BCM4375 / 4389 / 6710), Ethernet PHYs (BCM54xx / BCM82xxx), Trident 3/4/5 & Tomahawk / Jericho switch silicon (BCM56xxx / BCM78xxx / BCM88xxx), broadband CPE SoCs (BCM4908 / BCM63158), Emulex Fibre Channel HBAs (LPe31000 / LPe32000 / LPe35000), LSI MegaRAID and SAS HBAs, PLX PCIe switches (PEX8724 / PEX8749 / PEX88096), Avago-branded optical transceivers (AFBR-89BDDZ / AFBR-820LDZ), HP-heritage HCPL / ACPL optocouplers, HDSP / HLMP LEDs, HFBR Versatile Link fiber, and AEDR / HEDS optical encoders — spanning current-production Wi-Fi 7 and 51.2T switch silicon through obsolete Wi-Fi 4 combos, HomePlug PLC, Gen2 PCIe switches, LSI 53C SCSI and legacy HP 5082 LEDs still specified into locked-BOM industrial, medical, defense, and enterprise-storage builds. Same-day quotes and traceable OEM-excess sourcing since 1995.
Broadcom Inc's roots trace back to 1961, when Hewlett-Packard formed its Semiconductor Products Division in Palo Alto, California. That division spun into Agilent Technologies in 1999, then became Avago Technologies in a 2005 KKR / Silver Lake carve-out, and IPO'd in 2009. In 2016 Avago acquired the original Broadcom Corporation for $37B, adopted the Broadcom name and the AVGO stock ticker, and consolidated HQ in San Jose, California (originally Palo Alto). Today Broadcom Inc employs roughly 20,000 people and spans networking, wireless, broadband, storage, industrial, optical, and enterprise-software segments.
Chad's customers still search Broadcom by acquisition lineage, so it helps to lay them out: the original Broadcom Corp (2016) brought the BCM-series Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet PHY silicon, HomePlug PLC, the BCM63xx / BCM53xx / BCM47xx broadband and CPE SoCs, and the Trident / Tomahawk / Jericho data-center switch families. LSI Corp (2014) added SAS/SATA MegaRAID controllers, SandForce NAND flash controllers, Axxia network processors, and the Fusion-io PCIe SSD IP. PLX Technology (2014) brought ExpressLane PCIe switches (PEX88xx / PEX87xx / PEX86xx / PEX85xx) still stocked heavily in NVMe and JBOF designs. Emulex (2015) contributed LightPulse Fibre Channel HBAs (LPe12000 / LPe16000 / LPe31000 / LPe32000 / LPe35000) and OneConnect OCe14000 converged NICs. Brocade (2017) added Fibre Channel switches (BR-6510, G610, G620, G630, G720) and the MLXe router line. Enterprise software followed with CA Technologies (2018), Symantec Enterprise Security (2019), and the VMware acquisition (2023) for vSphere, ESXi, NSX and vSAN. The Inphi networking IP briefly held before it went to Marvell in 2021 and legacy Ranovus photonics IP round out the mix. Sitting under all of it: the HP heritage Semiconductor Products Division that gave the industry the HCPL optocoupler families, the HDSP seven-segment displays, and the HFBR Versatile Link plastic-fiber transmitters and receivers.

Additional stepping, packaging, revision, temp grade, and tape-and-reel variants across BCM Wi-Fi 7, Trident 5 / Tomahawk 5, Jericho 3, Emulex Gen 7, Avago 400G/800G optics, MegaRAID Gen4 tri-mode and PEX Gen4 also quoted on request. Avago- and HP-heritage optoelectronics (HCPL / ACPL / HDSP / HLMP / HFBR / AEDR) sourced from OEM excess with lot / date-code documentation. VMware / CA / Symantec software SKUs handled as request-for-quote through authorized VMware by Broadcom channels.
Broadcom rolls up more legacy silicon than any other tier-one semiconductor supplier — four decades of HP / Agilent / Avago, twenty years of Broadcom Corp, plus LSI, PLX, Emulex, Brocade, CA, Symantec and VMware. Long-lifecycle industrial, medical, aerospace, defense, and enterprise-storage systems still specify these obsolete Broadcom families. Hybrid Electronics sources them from OEM excess, CEM surplus, and traceable secondary channels:
No — we're an independent distributor and excess-inventory buyer sourcing from OEM excess, CEM surplus, and traceable secondary channels since 1995.
Yes. Devices such as BCM4375, BCM4389, BCM6710 (Wi-Fi 6E / Wi-Fi 7 combo), BCM43012, BCM20706 (Bluetooth 5.x) and BCM4362x automotive combo modules ship into flagship handset, tablet, gateway and Wi-Fi router builds. We source them from OEM excess and CEM surplus with full lot and date-code traceability.
Yes — the Broadcom optoelectronics catalog descends from HP's Semiconductor Products Division (Agilent → Avago → Broadcom). We routinely quote HCPL-3120, HCPL-2531, HCPL-0631, ACPL-P346, ACPL-M43T, HDSP-A101 / HDSP-513A / HDSP-2531 displays, HLMP-CE31 / HLMP-D101 5mm LEDs, HFBR-1414 / HFBR-2412 Versatile Link plastic-fiber transmitters/receivers, AEDR-8300 encoder modules and HCTL-1101 motion controllers — many of which are EOL and only available through OEM excess and traceable secondary channels.
Yes. Emulex LightPulse LPe31002-M6, LPe32002-M2, LPe35002-M2 (16G / 32G / 64G Gen 6/7) HBAs, Brocade G610, G620, G630, G720 32G/64G Fibre Channel switches and legacy BR-6510 Gen 5 switches are all in our line card. We also cross legacy IBM / HPE / Dell OEM-badged Emulex and Brocade SKUs to the Broadcom-branded equivalent.
Yes. MegaRAID 9560-16i / 9540-8i tri-mode Gen4 RAID, SAS 9500-16i, SAS 9300-8i / 9207-8i IT-mode HBAs, and older MegaRAID 9271-8i are quoted from OEM excess. On the PLX side we track PEX8724, PEX8749, PEX88096 Gen4, and older PEX8632 / PEX8524 Gen2 PCIe switches — heavily specified into storage, JBOF, NVMe, and embedded backplane designs.
Software SKUs (VMware vSphere / vSAN / NSX subscriptions, CA and Symantec enterprise products) are not core to our stock — we're a hardware distributor. We reference the SKUs (for example VF-vSP-STD-SUB or VF-vSAN-ADV-SUB) so buyers can bundle a quote, but any Broadcom software license procurement is treated as a request-for-quote handled by authorized VMware by Broadcom / Broadcom Software channels.
Call (407) 542-3995 or submit an RFQ — we cover current-production Wi-Fi 7, 51.2T switches, Gen 7 FC and Gen4 tri-mode RAID, plus obsolete BCM43xx, HomePlug PLC, LSI SCSI, PEX Gen2 and HP-heritage HDSP / HLMP / HCPL / HFBR / AEDR parts with OEM-excess traceability since 1995.
