Bourns, Inc. is a privately held manufacturer of electronic components founded in 1947 by Marlan and Rosemary Bourns in Altadena, California and now headquartered in Riverside, California. The company develops and supplies precision potentiometers, trimmers, panel controls, encoders and resistive products, along with circuit protection devices, magnetics and inductors and automotive sensors. It began with linear-motion and vane position potentiometers for the aerospace industry and today serves automotive, industrial, instrumentation, medical, consumer and portable electronics markets. Bourns operates roughly 15 manufacturing facilities worldwide and also markets Riedon precision wirewound resistors, shunts and fuse blocks.
